1000+ Voices for The Yamacraw Village Community

Ten-point program 

• Recruit 1,000 active voices (residents + allies) committed to preserving and restoring Yamacraw Village Community
• Build a national support base for Saving Yamacraw Village Community
• Build a broad coalition of residents, community groups, unions, churches, and educators
• Secure public commitments from city officials and developers on right of return, affordable housing, and land stewardship
• Create a Resilience Fund for residents under threat of displacement
• Create a case management system for current residents of Yamacraw Village (August 2024)
• Establish a resident/community-led decision-making body recognized in redevelopment planning
• Win policy guarantees: no privatization, protections against displacement, and environmental justice safeguards
• Nominate Yamacraw Village to the National Register
• Resident/ Community led development that guarantees the "right of return" to all families who were living in Yamacraw Village when the demolition request was made (2020)
