Resilience Fund

 The Resilience Fund is a dedicated community resource created by the I.W. Cheever Vision Foundation to support residents of Yamacraw Village and Greater West Savannah neighborhoods facing urgent threats of displacement, hardship, or housing instability.

What the Fund Supports

Our Story

Right-to-Return Protections

  • Ensures displaced Yamacraw families have a path to return
  • Offers legal support referrals and navigation help
     

Stabilization Support for Seniors & Families

  • Transportation vouchers for displaced residents
  • Case management and wraparound support
     

Who Is Eligible

  • Current or former residents of Yamacraw Village
  • Families affected by redevelopment or Section 18 demolition
  • Greater West Savannah neighbors facing hardship due to housing conditions, utility shutoffs, or rent hikes
     

Priority is given to:

  • Seniors
  • Single mothers
  • Veterans
  • Families with children
  • Former public housing residents displaced since 2020
     

How It Works

  • Applications reviewed monthly by a Resilience Fund Committee
  • Funds are disbursed through trusted partners or direct-to-resident based on need
  • Confidential intake and case-by-case review
     

How You Can Help

  • Sponsor a family: $500 helps one family avoid eviction
  • Donate Monthly: Become a “Community Responder” sustaining donor
  • Fund a Neighborhood Block: $5,000 provides resilience support for 10–12 homes
  • Corporate or CRA-aligned Sponsorships Available
